Valley Summer Theatre Presents Driving Miss Daisy

Read Time:1 Minute, 19 Second

What do you get when you combine:

a) a Pulitzer Prize winning play that was made into an Academy Award winning movie;

b) a MECCA (Montreal) and Merritt (Nova Scotia) Award winning actress;

c) an actor who is a recipient of Nova Scotia’s prestigious Portia White Prize and the Order of Canada for his contribution to arts and culture;

d) another actor who is a seven time nominee and three time winner of a Merritt Award; and

e) a creative team that features some of Nova Scotia’s finest theatrical talent?

The answer is Valley Summer Theatre’s production of Driving Miss Daisy, a timeless, searing and funny play telling the story of a stubborn Southern matriarch and her long time chauffer.

From its landmark off-Broadway production to the remarkable success of the Oscar winning film, Driving Miss Daisy, is one of the most beloved stories of the late twentieth century. The Valley Summer Theatre production will be directed by former Neptune Theatre Artistic Director Linda Moore and will feature Carolyn Hetherington as Daisy Werthan, Walter Borden as Hoke Coleburn and Graham Percy as Boolie Werthan.

Driving Miss Daisy is sponsored by The King’s County Advertiser and Register.  It plays at Acadia Cinema’s Al Whittle Theatre in Wolfville from July 7th to 30th.  Tickets are available at the Box of Delights Bookstore, by phoning 1-877-845-1341 or by going online to ticketpro.ca.  For more information on Driving Miss Daisy and the rest of the Valley Summer Theatre season you can go to valleysummertheatre.com.
