Itty Bitty Art Show Raising Funds for Gallery Renovations
By Penny Hughes, Project Manager

The Itty Bitty Bistro Art Show reception on July 29 was a smashing success! We want to thank everyone that came out to at Pascalice’s Bistro in Greenwood to show their support for local artists. Artwork will be on sale until the end of August. With each sale of artwork during the show, a small commission will go toward renovations for 7Arts’ Makers Space, NOVA Gallery, and Gathering Space. There are over 40 pieces of art in the show, 4 pieces being sold that night and several more have sold this week! Annapolis Valley artists are very talented and each piece in the show has its own character and personality. These pieces may be small in size but they huge on talent! 7Arts is looking forward to opening our doors and being able to better support local artists and provide a creative, engaging, and welcoming space for all to learn and grow in the Arts. 7Arts would like to thank Pascal and Alice at Pascalice’s Bistro, for generously donating the space to host this art show.

We are very happy to announce that during the reception, Councillor Martha Armstrong and Deputy Mayor Emily Lutz presented 7Arts (NOVA Seven Arts Council) with a grant to be used towards our Makers Space. We thank them for their support and look forward to seeing them at the grand opening, when we can show them and all our supporters what we have been striving for this past year. We all see the vision and need in our community. The finish line is in sight and with community support we will get there very soon.

7Arts would remiss if we did not thank the Province of Nova Scotia – Communities, Culture & Heritage for their support of our project as well. To date we have installed barrier-free washrooms with their help and the help of local businesses. We will continue to make 7Arts accessible to the community by ensuring community members can easily enter the space and move around within it. Our next step is to renovate and furnish the Makers Space, NOVA Gallery and Gathering Space. Community support is still needed. Donations of art and craft supplies, building materials, time and money are always appreciated. 7Arts would love to hear from you. Visit our website and fill out the contact form – 7arts.ca/contact-us/ We look forward to creating with you!
