A Feast of Seasonal Song and Story
The King’s College Chapel Choir is delighted to present its third annual Christmas concert, A King’s Christmas. The choir has performed to appreciative audiences in Halifax and Lunenburg since 2008, when the Chronicle Herald declared A King’s Christmas “an unquestioned tradition maker,†but this is the first time the concert has come to Wolfville.
Under the direction of Grammywinning musician Paul Halley, the choir will perform carols both old and new, interspersed with seasonal readings by guest narrator Eleanor Wachtel, host of CBC Radio’s Writers & Company. The concert includes works by Herbert Howells, Thomas Tallis, Arvo Pärt and Halley’s own carol, “Agnus Dei.†Favourite carols such as “Once in Royal David’s City†and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing†will give the audience an opportunity to join the singing.
The concert takes place Saturday, Dec. 11th, 7.30pm at the Baptist Church, Wolfville. Tickets are available from Box of Delights: 542 9511.
