Featurepreneur: Fluent Frameworks — A new voice in the local cycling scene

Read Time:1 Minute, 27 Second

Fluent Frameworks is a start-up business specializing in hand-built bicycles. Matt Manuel is the man behind Fluent Frameworks and he had this to say about exactly what it is that he does.

So what is a hand-built bike?
A hand-built bike starts with a frame built around you. Every detail is accounted for from the tube dimensions and its weight, to its length and ultimate look. It is an expression of one’s personality from its geometry to its paint and as unique to you as your fingerprint.

How did you get into building bicycles?
Cycling has always been a deeply integrated part of my life. I’ve worked my way through bike shops growing up and have always seen frame building as a master craft. It was only after I had the opportunity to study with master frame builder (Paul Brodie) that things really took off, as I knew I had the skill and desire to keep building.

How can Fluent Frameworks contribute to cycling in Nova Scotia?
It’s my wish to bring a new voice to the cycling scene here in Nova Scotia. I want to bring craftsmanship back into an industry that is heavily dependent on foreign industries. Cyclists deserve a voice as to what they want to ride as opposed to what they have to choose from. This option should be local and built to last. That is why Fluent Frameworks is here. I am just the vehicle to make your dream bike.

You can reach Matt anytime through the Fluent Frameworks website fluentframeworks.com or through Fluent’s Facebook page. You can also follow Fluent Frameworks on Instagram to see the newest developments and projects coming out of the shop.
